How to measure and size a rhythmic gymnastics rope

The rope is the only rhythmic gymnastics apparatus adjusted by cutting it to the gymnast’s exact height. Stand with both feet on the middle of the rope and pull both ends straight up along the body — the ends should reach armpit height. All our ropes come in a standard 3-metre length, ready to be knotted, trimmed and heat-sealed at the tips.

• Unstamped version (training & club level): ideal for daily gym sessions, beginners and local competitions that do not require an official FIG mark.

What material is a rhythmic gymnastics rope made of?
High-density braided synthetic fibre (polyester/polyamide) engineered to hold its shape in the air, feel soft on the hands and resist carpet wear.

How do you cut and adjust the rope to the gymnast’s height?
Stand on the centre of the rope, bring both ends up to the armpits and tie the knots first. Trim the excess leaving 3–4 cm past each knot, then gently heat-seal the tips (by an adult) so the braid never frays.
