How to measure a gymnast

Step 1/4 - Measure the chest

To measure your chest correctly, place the measuring tape around the part of your chest that has the most volume .

How to do it step by step:

  1. The gymnast should be standing, relaxed, and with her arms at her sides.
  2. Pass the tape around your back and bring it forward, around your chest at the most prominent area.
  3. Make sure the tape is straight and parallel to the ground , not too high and not too low.
  4. The strap should be snug but not tight , allowing you to breathe normally.
  5. Write down the measurement in centimeters.

Step 2/4 - Measure your waist

To measure your waist correctly, place the measuring tape around the part of your waist that has the least volume, the thinnest part.

How to do it step by step:

  1. The gymnast should be standing, relaxed, and with her arms at her sides.
  2. Pass the tape around your back and bring it forward, around your waist at the thinnest point.
  3. Make sure the tape is straight.
  4. The strap should be snug but not tight , allowing you to breathe normally.
  5. Write down the measurement in centimeters.

Step 3/4 - Measure your hips

To measure your hips correctly, place the measuring tape around the part of your hips that has the most volume .

How to do it step by step:

  1. The gymnast should be standing, relaxed, and with her arms at her sides.
  2. Pass the tape around your back and bring it forward, around your waist at the most prominent area.
  3. Make sure the tape is straight and parallel to the ground.
  4. The strap should be snug but not tight , allowing you to breathe normally.
  5. Write down the measurement in centimeters.

Step 4/4 - Measure the height

We need the distance from the top of the head to the ground, with the gymnast standing completely upright.

  1. Place the gymnast standing, barefoot.
  2. You should stand upright , with your feet together, legs straight, and looking straight ahead.
  3. Make sure your back is straight and your head is aligned with your body, without leaning forward or backward.
  4. Use a wall as a reference: The gymnast should lean gently against the wall with heels, back and head straight.
